Once in this labyrinth there is no coming out.

Some say Theseus killed him when he was send in the labyrinth, but some still believe he wanders through that labyrinth trying to find his way out.

Than in 1100 BC, the Dorians attacked Crete.

Most of the relics of Knossos went lost, but all that remains is the Phaistos Disc.

Nobody knows what is says, nobody can translate it.

Hallo lieber Geocoin-Freund, der 14. März wird alljährlich von wissenschaftlich affinen Personen zu Ehren der Kreiszahl PI gefeiert. Dieses Jahr finden anlässlich dieses Tages weltweit zahlreiche Geocaching Events statt. Anlässlich dieses einzigartigen Ereignisses haben wir ab sofort einige Pi-Day Produkte in unserem Shop. Was ist der Pi-Day? Dies geht auf die amerikanische Datumsschreibweise 3 / 14 zurück, welche die beste kalendarische Näherung für Pi darstellt. Pi=3.14159265358979323846... Außerdem ist der 14. März auch der Geburtstag des berühmten theoretischen Physikers und Vaters der Relativitätstheorie, Albert Einstein. (* 14. März 1879 in Ulm; † 18. April 1955 in Princeton, New Jersey). Die Zahl Pi gehört zu den wohl wichtigsten aber auch interessantesten Zahlen unseres Universums. Die Kreiszahl war schon in der Antike bekannt. Sie trägt den griechischen Buchstaben Pi, den Anfangsbuchstaben des griechischen Wortes für Perimetros (Umfang) Pi beschreibt das Verhältnis des Umfanges eines Kreises zu seinem Durchmesser, oder auch die Fläche eines Kreises mit dem Radius 1. Pi ist reell, irrational und transzendent. Pi begegnet uns in vielen Gebieten auch ausserhalb der Geometrie, so zum Beispiel in der Heisenbergschen Unschärferelation oder der wohl schönsten Formel der Mathematik, der Euler Gleichung. Dies sind sicherlich genügend Gründe der Zahl Pi am 14. Märzviele Geocaching Events zu widmen, zumal der 14. März 2015ein ganz besonderer Tag ist, da die 15 aus der Jahreszahl die 3. und 4. Nachkommastelle von Pi darstellen. Nimmt man dann noch die Uhrzeit 9:26:53 hinzu, so kann man wahrlich von einem "once in a life" Datum sprechen. PI Geocoin

Pi is an irrational number. It has eluded mathematicians for centuries due to the high rate of inaccurate digits produced from the different formulae. After the invention of calculators and modern day computers, however, the digits of Pi have become much more precise. There are several different equations which are used to find Pi, such as the more modern BBP formula displayed on this coin. The main use of Pi is to find the exact circumference of a circle.
