__Knights of the Round Table

This heraldry gecoin is based around coats of arms of the Knights of the Round Table. At the top with three gold crowns the one of King Arthur and clockwise sir Lancelot, Percival, Degore, Bedivere, Kay, Galahad, Bors, Gawain, Tristan, Brunor, Hector. Some have various versions, we have chosen the version that seemed most appropriate based on several heraldry resources.
On the back side of the coin there are 12 swords, Excalibur at the top. In the centre there is one of the chivalry principles "To persevere to the end in any enterprise begun", which we feel has great relation to the geocaching - especially long multicaches and complicated mystery caches.

Geocoin has a diameter of 2" and is available in three metal finishes - antique gold, antique silver, and antique copper

Coins are available at our site www.geocoindirect.net

11-11-11 Suncatcher: LE Antique Bronze

This is the Limited Edition Antique Bronze version.

This coin measures 2 inches in diameter and 3mm thick, and features translucent enamels over textured metal with an Antique Gold finish. In the center of the coin is a suncatcher poppy (see through coloured enamel). It is trackable on www.geocaching.com and will have its own icon, and will come in a protective sleeve.

This coin is being made to celebrate 11-11-11, which also happens to be Remembrance Day (also known as Poppy Day/Armistice Day/Veterans Day). Remembrance Day is observed in Commonwealth countries on November 11th to recall the official end of World War I in 1918, where the major hostilities of WWI were formally ended “at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month” with the German signing of the Armistice. On this day the Commonwealth countries remember the members of their armed forces who have died on duty since WWI. The red poppy has also become a familiar emblem of Remembrance Day, due to the poem In Flanders Fields. These poppies bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders during the war.

On the back of the coin is part of the poem 'In Flanders Fields' by John McCrae. Also featured on the back are barbed wire spirals (representing the trenches), and crosses surrounded by flowers (representing those who died). And on the other side is a compass rose style design surrounded by some of the most common cache type icons, as well as soldiers and 11-11-11.

One legend has it that a great white wolf with supernatural powers transformed himself into a killerwhale so that he could hunt in the sea. __North West Orca

Description: The Orca or killer whale is one of the most awesome creatures in both real life and Pacific North West Coast art. The killer whale is regarded as the guardian and ruler of the sea due to its sheer size and power.

Killer whales are symbols of longevity and romance since they are believed to mate for life. It is said that if fishermen ever injure a killer whale, it will capsize the canoe sinking the fishermen to the Village of the Whales. It is here where the fishermen will be transformed into whales themselves. Whales near the shore are believed to be humans who were transformed trying to communicate with their previous human families ashore. Others believe that killer whales are reincarnations of deceased native chiefs...Free Spirit Gallery.

Schrodinger

Dimensions 1.75inches Thickness 3.5mm

Finish Antique Copper

Enameling Soft Enamel Trackable? Yes Has Icon Yes

This is a customer submission from scificollector. Always wanting to see a Schrodinger puzzle coin, we obliged. One side has incredible color and flare, and the backside has an actual puzzle. Cross your eyes and see what's there.

Flavor text from the artist is below:

Have you ever went to a geocache and wondered if the travelers were actually there? It was another day of finding some caches with their coins in them and some with missing coins. I thought “Why get frustrated about it? Why not make it part of the game?” This was the beginning of the idea for the Schrödinger’s geocoin.

Schrödinger was an Austrian Physicist who had a created a thought experiment to try to illustrate a problem with quantum mechanics. A cat was put into a box and a device was hooked up to measure the decay of a radioactive atom. Depending on if the atom decayed, the device would release a gas affecting the cat. Schrödinger postulated that until the cat was observed by opening the box, it was in a indeterminate state (neither affected or unaffected by the gas). Once the box was opened and the cat observed would the true determination of its state would be made. Science fiction author, Robert Heinlein came up with another twist to the experiment. Cats are capricious and they may end up deciding they don’t want to wait around to find out out what happens and may just leave the box themselves. (From the book Cat who walks through Walls)

This is very similar to the state of geocoins in a cache. The cache can list the trackables at geocaching.com but until you actually get out to a cache its impossible to make that determination if the coins is actually in there.
