Ever show up to an event with a dogtag around your neck so people can discover you on Geocaching.com? Now you don't need to! Just order up a Name Tag Geocoin for everyone in the family and hit the event. This Geocoin features a very large engraved tracking code so people you meet can easily read it while it's on display. Affix it to your shirt with the VERY STRONG magnetic backing or slip it into the plastic sleeve of a lanyard for easy display.

The Geocoin also feature a large, blank, white area for writing your name. Use a black sharpie (not included, sorry!) to permanently display your name in high contrast for easy reading.

Don't worry about the fact that it's thin - the magnetic backing features an iron plate glued to the coin which reinforces the tag and prevents bending. The thickness (or lack thereof) is to ensure it will hang easily and comfortably on your shirt if that is the method you choose to display it.

Making friends out in the field is fun, and now it's easier than ever to let someone discover you!

This is a little number that Rusty arranged for us. It's got a wonderful 3D relief on the front, with the angel kneeling through his sword piercing the ammo can. The backside has a common phrase morphed into a caching phrase. With some more intricate design work.

This was SUPPOSED to be a reorder of Mystique. Well, it turned out lighter and much more purple, so we're calling it Mystic. It's all a mystery to us . . .

__Autism Awareness Satin Silver

Product Information

Autism Awareness

About two years ago we made an Autism Awareness coin, which sold out in a very short period of time. Since that time we have received repeated requests for these coins. We have come out with two new versions of this coin. What follows is the description from the original coin offering.

This coin project is as near and dear to MamaCache as any she has ever worked on. Here is why:

From Mama Cache: I am very excited about this coin coming out soon at Hogwild Stuff! We were approached to do a coin for Autism Awareness by Chris of "LondonPuzzlers". I was very excited to do this because my Son Bryan is in the autistic spectrum.

Autism is a spectrum disorder and ranges from very few abilities with no speech or communication to very educated, intelligent socially impaired people. Bryan has Aspergers syndrome. This is at the top of the spectrum. I can still remember reading a book that described my child perfectly. I cried for the loss of a “quick fix”, I was also relieved that I had come to the end of my diagnosis journey and we could now spend our time helping Bryan and his teachers understand each other. I adore my son, he looks at the world in such a unique way. This world would not be what it is today if not for a few very smart autistics. Every time we get online or use or computers there is one to thank somewhere!

1 in 150 children have autism spectrum disorder. Early child hood diagnosis and education is proving to be a great success.

Size: 1.75 long (top corner to bottom corner) 3.5 mm thick

__YuGeo4 New Zealand Geocoin - polished nickel

KIWI
The kiwi is a flightless bird endemic to New Zealand, it is also used as the national symbol of New Zealand. Although flightless, the kiwi has very small wings, they have long beaks with nostrils at the tip for sniffing out food (caches). They are semi nocturnal, (hence - the early bird gets the cache). Their feathers are coarse and shaggy and have special patterns and colors to help them camouflage on the ground.

PAUA SHELL
Paua is a species of abalone, It is only found in the sea around New Zealand. The Paua Shell is the most colorful of all the abalone shells. Colors vary from greens & pinks to purples & blues and even some shells have gold or crimson toning. The color in the paua shell changes when viewed at different angles. Each shell is different and unique in it's color toning, and in the patterns within the shell.

KORU (patterned border)
The Koru is an integral symbol in Maori art, meaning loop, it is a spiral shape based on the shape of a new unfurling silver fern frond (native to NZ) and symbolizes new life, growth, strength and peace.

YuGeo4
Interpreted as "Why You Geo For?" Name derived from the Japanese Manga cartoon character Yu-Gi-Oh, hence the drawing - the spiky hair represents another native plant of New Zealand - the Flax or Harakeke, while the eyes again represent the koru.

  • Measures 1.75" diameter
  • Swirled pearl color
  • Hard enamel, translucent, and solid colors
  • Trackable on Geocaching.com

__Luck of the Find Geocoin - Ant bronze/pol nickel

This coin is brought to you by the geocacher CTYankee9 who took advantage of our presale program. This could be your lucky geocoin. Here is his why he wanted to make it:

I introduced a friend to Geocaching, who happened to be a "Hobo Nickel" carver. As a gift he, with another carver, made one of these Hobo Nickels based on my love of things Irish and Leprechauns and gave the coin to me. The carvers' handles that they use in their community are Owen Covert and Stephen D. Cox. Owen is the friend of mine and Stephen is his friend, the two of them jointly worked on the original coin, each doing part of the design. These are not their real names, but are much like Geocaching names they use in their community of carvers. You can view more info about them and these nickels at: The Original Hobo Nickel Society. As far as a "Hobo Nickel", back during the days of the Great Depression in the Unites States, those that were considered "Hobos" would take a regular Buffalo Nickel, carve an image onto one or both sides and then get a little more money based on their artwork carved on the nickel. In this manner the Nickel would be worth more than 5 cents. As for the backside, it is just a basic compass rose with the flag of Northern Ireland (unofficial, as Northern Ireland is no longer a separate country, but part of Great Britain now) imposed over it. My family is from there (Carrickfergus, County Antrim, Northern Ireland) and it is just something about my heritage.

Picture of the original coin:

  • Measures 1.75" diameter
  • Detailed 3-D images on front side
  • Hard enamel colors on backside
  • Two-tone finish
  • Trackable on Geocaching.com
  • An icon unique to this coin will show on your profile when you log a discovery
